Transportation

Main venues of the event are within 2 km ra­dius and there­fore within walk­ing dis­tance from each other. Venues and city cen­ter are also eas­ily reached with pub­lic trans­porta­tion from dif­fer­ent parts of Hel­sinki.
Dur­ing the World Gym­naestrada in Hel­sinki the par­tic­i­pants will re­ceive a HSL Travel Card with their Par­tic­i­pant Card, which al­lows the par­tic­i­pants to use pub­lic trans­porta­tion in Hel­sinki mu­nic­i­pal­ity.

HSL Travel Cards are valid on all buses, com­muter trains, trams and Metro which op­er­ate in Hel­sinki zone. Also the Suomen­linna ferry is in­cluded in the HSL Travel Card for the par­tic­i­pants of the Gym­naestrada.

Spe­cial trans­porta­tion dur­ing the WG2015
Some World Gym­naestrada 2015 events will take place late in the evening. There­fore spe­cial trans­porta­tion will be needed. On Wednes­day 15th of July the Mid­night Sun Spe­cial will end not un­til 22:30.

Spe­cial trans­porta­tion will be or­gan­ised from the Olympic Sta­dium to those ac­com­mo­da­tion schools that are dif­fi­cult to reach with pub­lic trans­port. There will be spe­cific in­for­ma­tion on the info boards of the ac­com­mo­da­tion schools as soon as the fes­ti­val week be­gins. Un­for­tu­nately we don’t have the pos­si­bil­ity to trans­port the whole ac­com­mo­da­tion ca­pac­ity. Spe­cial trans­porta­tion will be re­served pri­mar­ily for chil­dren, par­tic­i­pants with wheel­chairs and older par­tic­i­pants.

All WG2015 trans­porta­tion is free for all par­tic­i­pants.
